Immediately identifiable as an Audi, the new e-tron nevertheless is defined by its own distinct style. Sleek, elegant and designed with superior aerodynamics, the e-tron’s styling is not only eye-catching, but with the optional ground-breaking virtual mirrors, drag is greatly reduced improving overall range by up to 40km in distance. The familiar octagonal Singeframe dominates the front end, its vertical struts and platinum grey surround identifying it as an e-tron model. The Matrix LED lights too display their own e-tron signature - the four horizontal struts in the daytime running lights mirroring the e-tron specific design of the alloy wheels. The unique light signature is echoed at the sculptured rear, with its long roof edge spoiler and distinctive absence of exhaust pipes.
The contemporary, flowing design continues in the e-tron’s interior; its sweeping dashboard adding to the feeling of space and housing the two large MMI touch screens and the Audi virtual cockpit. The touch screens, which feature haptic and audio feedback, do away with the need for traditional dials and switches, creating a clean and streamlined interior environment while still placing control of the e-tron’s myriad vehicle systems and infotainment literally at the driver’s fingertips. This functionality combined with voice command and multi-function steering wheel allow the driver to remain completely in control while still remaining completely focused on the road ahead.

With the Audi e-tron, Audi Design has translated the brand’s fundamental design language for the electric age, both inside and out. New, stylistically defining details, such as the special daytime running light signature, the electric charging flap, the lack of exhaust pipes, and stitching on the seats reminiscent of an electric circuit board, transmit a clear signal that the Audi e-tron is fully electric. Charged with excitement
As with all Audi models, performance is at the very heart of the new e-tron, but here it is generated purely by electricity. Its two electric motors – one attached to the front and one the rear axle – provide the silent, almost instantaneous drive, delivering 265kW of power (up to 300kW with boost) and a massive 664Nm of torque. This sees the battery electric vehicle race from stop to 100km/h in just 5.7 seconds on its way to an electronically governed top speed of 200km/h. Maximum performance with zero emissions.
A new generation of quattro
Unbelievable surefootedness and handling regardless of the conditions come courtesy of a new, fully battery electric generation of Audi quattro. Blindingly fast, the system regulates the optimum amount of torque required between the two axles for maximum traction, constantly monitoring the driving situation and grip and responding in as little as 30 milliseconds to detected changes. Without the need to engage a clutch, the battery electric vehicle all-wheel drive is faster than conventional quattro, and, combined with the e-tron’s low centre of gravity and perfect axle load distribution (thanks to the low placement of the battery and drive components), the Audi e-tron exhibits extraordinary composure and handling in all conditions regardless of speed.
Intelligent vehicle systems
Innovation is a pillar of the Audi brand and the e-tron is the perfect illustration of this in action right across the board. Audi has achieved a single-charge range of more than 400km* in part by employing an innovative energy recuperation system that accounts for as much as 30 percent of the overall range. Recovering and storing energy from coasting or from braking, the e-tron’s electric motors function as generators and convert kinetic energy into usable electric energy. This intelligent recovery system uses the vehicle’s extensive monitoring systems, navigation route data and up-to-date Audi connect information to offer the driver predictive tips in the Audi virtual cockpit and automatic recuperation to further improve efficiency and optimise range. This is just one of a raft of driver assistance systems available in the Audi e-tron, designed to enhance the driving experience and improve safety and efficiency. From Adaptive cruise control to Rear cross traffic assist and Audi pre sense 360, the e-tron is not only looking to provide the most effective use of energy, but is constantly monitoring the surrounding environment to provide a seamless and safe driving experience.
A range of charging solutions
Audi ensured that amongst its many qualities, convenience and practical usability would be mainstays of the Audi e-tron. With a range of more than 400km* on a full charge, it makes easy work of daily driving needs without the need to recharge for days at a time. Yet with numerous charging solutions available from Audi for home and office, the e-tron’s charging system can easily be used with either a either a 240V household system or a 415V 3-phase power system^, for fast, efficient charging as required.
Fast charging is also a feature of the e-tron, which is perfect on long trips. In a first for series-production battery electric vehicles, the Audi e-tron can use fast charging stations with direct current at up to 150kW to complete a charge in just 30 minutes. Alternatively, the Audi e-tron is also compatible with charging using alternating current (AC) at up to 11kW.
