Audi e-tron Public Charging

Public charging.

Whether it's the freedom to drive around the city or open road with an electric vehicle or the flexibility to charge it as needed when you're taking a break. Or simply because you like having an alternative, when charging at home is not an option. Whatever is important to you personally – in all three cases, a public charging infrastructure is crucial.

Charge from 5% up to 80% in just 30 minutes

For long drives, the ability to charge rapidly is important for a battery-electric powered vehicle. The Audi e-tron 55 allows for extremely short charging stops, because it has the max. charging power of up to 150 kW DC and can hold up to 80% of the battery state-of-charge (SOC). As a result, the Audi e-tron 55 only needs 30 minutes on a high-power charging (HPC) column for a typical charge of 5% to 80%. If, on the other hand, you want to fill the battery to 100% in order to be able to exploit the maximum range, the sophisticated battery management system only takes another 20 minutes.

e-tron charging power

The charging performance of the Audi e-tron 55 sets a high standard. The 150 kW DC charging curve stands out for its high level of stability, based on intelligent battery management, which lowers the currents to protect the lithium-ion cells and ensure their service life. This is a big difference to other concepts, which usually only reach their full power for a short time (peak) and start downgrading before the 70% threshold. The Audi e-tron 55 still charges more than 100 kW at 80%. In everyday life, this constitutes fundamental utility: for around 100 kilometres, the customer ideally spends less than 10 minutes at the charging station.

Audi provides a Mode-3 cable for AC charging stations without a fixed charging cable. This supports the AC charging capacity of the vehicle with 11 kW¹ as standard.

Chargefox Ultra Rapid Charging Network - Audi Australia

Fast charging on long routes: The Chargefox Ultra Rapid charging network

To ensure that you can fully enjoy the capability of your Audi e-tron vehicle, Audi is committed to ensuring you have access to a powerful network of charging stations along the main Australian freeways. Comfortable access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

¹The charging capacity depends on the type of mains connection plug used, country-specific voltage, number of available phases of the power grid, and the customer-specific house installation. It can therefore be reduced on an individual basis. The power supply cable with an industrial plug and the operating unit of the charging system are matched to each other and allow a certain charging capacity. Changing the power supply cable later to another industrial plug is technically possible, but this may lead to a lower charging performance.
