The Audi A1 e-tron wins ‘Green Car’ of the year award

The Audi A1 e-tron has won the Green Car Award for 2011 at the Women’s World
Car of the Year Awards. The award was presented at the recent Frankfurt Motor
Show and recognised the A1 e-tron as the greenest car in the category. The award
certificate was presented to Franciscus van Meel, Head of Electromobility Strategy
of AUDI AG.


The awards are judged by an international panel of female journalists and authors
including motoring writers. The basis of the criteria is voted on according safety,
value for money, aesthetic appearance, storage space, child--friendliness, ease-ofdriving
and environmental footprint.


The Green Car award was presented to the Audi A1 e-tron a vehicle designed to
provide a smart personal mobility solution for the world’s rapidly growing
megacities. The A1 e-tron is an electric car with a range extender and is powered
purely by an electric motor.
