The 2.0 TFSI engine has been specially developed for the requirements of the TT. To attain 155kW (211 bhp) of power, the crank drive, cylinder head and inlet valves, among other things, have been modified.
The new Audi valvedrift system, an improved air intake system and exhaust system, together with a performance-optimised turbocharger enable the TT to fully utilise the potential offered by TFSI technology. The fuel is injected into the combustion chamber in the precise quantities required. There, the fuel evaporates, thereby cooling the intake air. This enables compression, and consequently engine efficiency, to be increased. This makes the TFSI engine a compact powerhoese and ensure exceptional power delivery.
The lively four-cylinder engine has access to huge power reserves that can be called on dynamically yet harmoniously across the entire speed range. Thanks to turbocharging, the engine develops an impressive 350Nm of torque over a wide engine speed range of 1,600 to 4,200 rpm. It is characterised by an outstanding start-up performance, to which the turbocharger, charge air cooling an Audi valvelift system, as well as the direct fuel injection, all contribute.
So much for the theory. In practice , the TT Roadster 2.0 TFSI fitted with the optional S tronicS tronicFaster gearshifts, sportier driving: the S tronic combines the sporty characteristics of a manual gearbox with the advantages of an automatic.S tronic , will accelerate you from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds and continue on to a top speed up to 240 km/h.
